Westpac parking access application flow

This article explains how Westpac staff get parking access in BaseUp. It helps answer questions about who gets access automatically, who needs to apply, who approves access, and how long changes usually take.

Overview

Most new Westpac staff receive standard parking access automatically as part of onboarding.

Some staff need to apply for a different type of access, including:

  • priority parking

  • funded parking

  • pool car parking

Westpac parking access is based on the user’s office location, as recorded in Westpac’s internal systems.

The correct answer depends on what type of access the staff member needs and whether their office location is recorded correctly.

If you are a new staff member

If you are a new staff member, you will usually receive standard parking access automatically as part of onboarding.

This means:

  • you do not need to apply for standard parking access

  • your work location in Westpac’s internal systems is synced to BaseUp

  • you can access Westpac corporate office parking based on your recorded office location

If your access is not showing, check the Carparking FAQs on the Intranet or submit a request through Front Door.

If you need priority parking

Priority parking is not automatic.

You need to apply through Front Door.

This option is only available to:

  • Executive Managers

  • Heads of

  • Directors

  • General Managers

Once approved, a Carparking team member will add you to the Priority Parking group in BaseUp.

If your priority parking has been approved but you still cannot book up to 4 weeks in advance, log out of the BaseUp app and then log back in. This refreshes your profile and updates your access.

Changes are usually completed within 24 hours.

If you need funded parking

Funded parking is not automatic.

You need to submit an IT request through the Intranet.

This applies if:

  • funded parking is required for your role

  • you regularly start before 7:00am

  • you regularly finish after 7:00pm

There are 2 request types:

  • Role Required - Funded Role Requirement Parking Group

  • Funded After hours Parking Group

Your request must be approved by:

  1. your People Leader

  2. your Business Unit GM’s Office

Once approved, your access is added through the relevant group and then synced to BaseUp.

If your funded parking has been approved but you are still being charged in the app, log out of the BaseUp app and then log back in. This refreshes your profile and updates your access.

Changes may take 1 to 2 hours to appear in BaseUp after approval. The full process can take up to 72 hours.

If you need pool car parking access

Pool car parking access is not automatic.

You need to submit an IT request through the Intranet for the Funded Pool Parking Group.

Your request must be approved by:

  1. your People Leader

  2. your Business Unit GM’s Office

Once approved, your access is added through the relevant group and then synced to BaseUp.

If your pool car access has been approved but you still cannot see the pool car option in the app, log out of the BaseUp app and then log back in. This refreshes your profile and updates your access.

Changes may take 1 to 2 hours to appear in BaseUp after approval. The full process can take up to 72 hours.

If you cannot book weekday parking for your office location

Westpac weekday parking is based on the office location recorded in Westpac’s internal systems.

If you cannot book weekday parking for your current office location, submit a request through Front Door so Westpac can review and correct your office location in its records.

BaseUp cannot update the office location directly.

If your approved access is not showing correctly

After approval, staff should log out of the BaseUp app and then log back in if their updated access is not showing correctly.

This includes:

  • priority parking has been approved, but they still cannot book up to 4 weeks in advance

  • funded parking has been approved, but they are still being charged in the app

  • pool car access has been approved, but they still cannot see the pool car option in the app

Logging out and back in refreshes the user’s profile and updates their access.
