Enforcing No-Shows

BaseUp helps you track drivers who book a park and don't show up, particularly staff with free parking. Beyond tracking, you can also act on that data.

Tracking no-shows

You already have several ways to monitor no-show behaviour:

  • No-show reports, sent to your team on a schedule you set (weekly, for example).

  • Booking completion report, available to download directly from the management portal at any time.

  • Custom reporting, built to match the specific criterias you want to track.

Acting on no-shows

Once you've identified a driver who isn't using their bookings, you can now deactivate their account and schedule when it reactivates.

When an account is deactivated:

  • All of that driver's future bookings are cancelled.

  • They can't create new bookings until the account is reactivated.

  • If they try to create a booking in the app, they'll see a message that their account has been deactivated.

Example

Client A's policy is that three unused bookings in a month results in losing parking access for three weeks.

To apply this once a driver is confirmed in the no-show report:

  1. Go to the driver's profile.

  2. Select Deactivate account.

  3. Schedule reactivation for three weeks from today.

  4. Save.

The driver's future bookings are cancelled immediately, and they won't be able to book again until the reactivation date.

Before implementing

Before you start deactivating accounts, make sure your drivers have received communications from your team about your no-show policy, and what happens if they don't use their bookings.

Communications alone are often enough to reduce no-shows, along with the booking reminders you can configure in BaseUp. Treat deactivation as a last resort, once those steps haven't worked.

Can I use this if my organisation has SCIM set up?

Yes. You can enable this feature even if SCIM is configured, the account will only be reactivated at the schedule date.
