Does BaseUp change how I access the car park?
When BaseUp is implemented, car park access may or may not change. It depends on how your building is set up.
There are two common scenarios:
Your building already uses licence plate recognition (LPR)
If access is already managed by LPR, in many cases nothing changes for drivers.
You continue to drive up to the gate and the system recognises your plate and opens as usual.
BaseUp is used to manage who has parking rights, but the way the gate opens can stay the same.
BaseUp hardware is installed for access
In many buildings, when BaseUp hardware is installed, drivers will use the BaseUp app to open the gates.
Drivers use the app to enter and exit the car park, instead of using a physical card or remote.
Access rules (who can enter, when, and which car parks) are managed through bookings or allocations in BaseUp.
Your exact setup will be confirmed during implementation and explained in your onboarding pack.
What does BaseUp manage (and what doesn’t it manage)?
It’s important to understand that BaseUp manages car park access only.
BaseUp controls things like:
Who can enter/exit the car park
Which gates they can use
Whether they have a valid booking or allocation
BaseUp does not manage:
Access to building levels (office floors, lobbies, etc.)
Elevator permissions
General building or office door access
For those areas, you will still need to:
Use your building swipe card / fob / access method, or
Follow your building’s normal security protocols (e.g. sign-in, visitor passes)
Who do I contact if I have an access issue?
If the issue is with car park access (gate not opening, app not working, can’t enter or exit):
Follow the process provided by your tenant or building (for example, use Get Help in the app, call your Key Tenant Contact, or contact the FM depending on your setup).
If the issue is with building or lift access (can’t reach your office floor, can’t open internal doors):
Contact your building management, security, or workplace/office team.
BaseUp does not control building or lift permissions.
