In RAMP, a System represents a group of assets that work together to serve a specific function within a garage.
For example, a PARCS lane may contain multiple pieces of equipment (such as entry stations, boom gates, or payment terminals). These individual items are assets, and together they form a system.
Understanding systems helps ensure assets are grouped correctly for reporting, maintenance, and ticket management.
What Is a System?
A system is:
A functional grouping of related assets
Associated with a specific garage
Categorised by type (e.g. access control, lighting, PARCS, etc.)
Systems allow users to:
Log tickets against a broader function
Track maintenance by operational area
View assets in a structured and organised way
Accessing the Systems Tab
To manage systems:
Navigate to the Systems tab.
You will see a summary table listing all systems you have access to.
Access is permission-based, so users will only see systems assigned to their role or garage.
Understanding the Systems Tab
Each row in the Systems table represents one system.
The summary view displays key details, including:
System Location eg. Left lane
Garage
System Name eg. Alarm System
System Type eg. PARCS, CCTV
This provides a quick overview of how systems are structured across garages.
Within the system view, you can:
See additional system details
View all assets linked to that system
Review how assets are grouped under that function
This view helps users understand the structure and components that make up each operational area.
When working with systems:
Ensure assets are grouped under the correct system
Use consistent naming conventions
Review system details before logging tickets or making configuration changes
Accurate system configuration supports clearer reporting, easier maintenance tracking, and more effective ticket management.
