In RAMP, a system represents a group of assets that perform a specific function within a garage (for example, a PARCS lane, CCTV network, or HVAC system).
Before adding assets, you must first create the system and configure its details.
How to Create a System
Follow these steps to create a new system:
Step 1: Select the Location
Choose the location where the system is installed.
This ensures the system is linked to the correct area within the garage.
Step 2: Choose the System Type
Select the appropriate system type (for example: HVAC, PARCS, CCTV).
The system type helps categorise the system for:
Reporting
Maintenance tracking
Ticket filtering
Always select the most accurate type available.
Step 3: Enter a System Name
Provide a clear and descriptive system name or lane identifier.
Examples:
“Entry Lane 1”
“Level 2 CCTV Network”
“Basement HVAC Unit A”
Use consistent naming conventions to make reporting and ticket logging easier.
Step 4: Add a Description (Optional)
You may include a brief description explaining:
What the system covers
Any specific operational notes
Unique identifiers or details
While optional, descriptions are helpful for larger sites or complex setups.
Step 5: Assign Contact Lists
Select the relevant contact lists for:
Ticket notifications
Maintenance notifications
These contact groups will be notified when activity occurs, depending on notification settings.
Make sure the correct stakeholders are assigned to avoid missed updates.
Step 6: Save the System
Click Save to finalise the system.
Once saved, the system can be used across:
Ticket logging
Maintenance scheduling
Reporting
After creating a system, the next step is to add assets to that system.
Assets represent the individual components that make up the system and allow for more detailed tracking and maintenance.
When creating a system:
Use clear and consistent naming
Select the correct system type
Confirm the correct location
Assign appropriate contact lists
Accurate system setup ensures reliable reporting, smoother ticket management, and clearer operational visibility.
