Maintenance Schedules

How to set the work order for a new schedule.

Maintenance Schedules in RAMP are used to plan and manage recurring preventative maintenance tasks across systems and assets.

They ensure required inspections and servicing occur at the correct frequency and are properly tracked.

Key Terms:

Maintenance Schedule
A Maintenance Schedule defines:

  • What work needs to be completed

  • How often it must be done

  • Which garage and system it applies to

For example:
“90 Day Car Lift Inspection – Location 004”

This schedule sets the recurring requirement.

Maintenance Cycle
A Maintenance Cycle is a specific occurrence of a Maintenance Schedule.

For example:
The Car Lift inspection taking place at Location 004 between 1 January and 30 March.

Each time the schedule repeats, a new maintenance cycle is generated.

In simple terms:

  • The Schedule is the recurring plan.

  • The Cycle is each individual instance of that plan.

How to Create a New Maintenance Schedule

To create a new maintenance schedule:

Step 1: Go to the Work Order Tab
Navigate to the Work Order tab to begin configuring the schedule.

Step 2: Enter Schedule Details
Provide:

  • A clear schedule name

  • The relevant garage

  • The relevant system

Contacts are automatically assigned based on the selected garage.

You can:

  • Add additional contacts

  • Remove contacts if required

This ensures the correct stakeholders are notified when maintenance cycles are generated.

Step 3: Set Priority and Work Description

Select the ticket priority level for the maintenance work.

Then provide a clear work description outlining:

  • What tasks must be completed

  • Any compliance requirements

  • Special instructions

The description should be detailed enough for technicians to understand the scope of work without needing clarification.

Step 4: Select Assets and Checklist

Choose the assets that will be included in the schedule.

Then select the checklist that should accompany each asset.

The checklist defines the specific inspection or maintenance steps that must be completed during each maintenance cycle.

This ensures:

  • Consistency across recurring maintenance

  • Proper documentation

  • Compliance tracking
