How to Close and Re-Generate a Maintenance Cycle

Once all maintenance tickets within a cycle have been reviewed and completed, the maintenance cycle can be closed. Closing the cycle finalises the current work and generates the next set of maintenance tickets according to the schedule.

This ensures recurring maintenance continues automatically.

Before Closing the Cycle

Before completing a maintenance run, confirm that:

  • All checklist items have been reviewed

  • Any issues identified during maintenance have been addressed or logged

  • Tickets have been updated with relevant notes, comments, or files

  • Outstanding issues have been escalated if required

Once these checks are complete, the cycle can be closed.

Completing the Maintenance Run

To close the maintenance cycle:

  1. Open the relevant maintenance cycle.

  2. Select Complete Run.

When you select Complete Run, a confirmation window will appear, allowing you to review the details of the next scheduled run.

You will be asked to confirm:

  • The Next Due Date for the upcoming maintenance cycle

  • The Next Run Name, which identifies the next maintenance cycle

These values are automatically generated based on the schedule configuration but can be reviewed before confirming.

Confirming the Cycle Closure

After reviewing the details:

  1. Click Close & Create Next Run.

  2. Confirm the action.

This will:

  • Close all tickets associated with the current maintenance cycle

  • Finalise the completed run

  • Automatically generate the next maintenance cycle and its associated tickets

The new cycle will appear in the maintenance schedule according to the configured timing.

What Happens Next

After the cycle is closed:

  • The completed cycle remains available for historical reference

  • The new cycle is generated based on the maintenance schedule

  • New maintenance tickets are created for the upcoming work period

This process ensures maintenance schedules continue running without interruption.
